The Workforce Education Council (WEC) is a council of the Instruction Commission (IC) and the Washington Association of Community and Technical Colleges (WACTC). Membership is comprised of the chief workforce education officer from each Washington state community and technical college.
WEC meets quarterly at a college and — in collaboration with representatives of the State Board for Community and Technical Colleges, organized labor and the Association of Washington Business — explores and develops initiatives to improve access to workforce training, boost local economic development, and expand services for dislocated workers in the state.
